Charteris makes three key hires as fund performance soars


Charteris Treasury Portfolio Managers Limited (Charteris), the London‐based fund management
company, is pleased to announce three new senior appointments to support its growth.

The company has recruited Jonathan Morgan and Colin Robertson as investment managers, while
Neil Thapar joins as head of public relations. These are new positions, created by the company as its
funds deliver strong year‐on‐year performance and demand increases from investors.

Morgan has more than 20 years’ experience in investment management. He is a former divisional
director at Rensburg Sheppards (now Investec). He previously also worked at Julius Baer with
responsibility for private client relationship management and business development, and at
Hottinger, the Swiss private bank.

Robertson brings more than three decades of experience in portfolio management to Charteris. He
previously held senior client‐facing roles at several leading financial sector companies, including
Aberdeen Asset Management, Brown Shipley, Cornelian, and Gillespie MacAndrews LLP.

Thapar was a financial journalist for 20 years before becoming a senior PR adviser. He worked as a
writer, columnist and editor at several major news organisations including Bloomberg, The
Independent and Mail on Sunday. He subsequently co‐founded a financial PR consultancy and was a
director of Luther Pendragon for four years.

Commenting on the appointments, Ian Williams, chief executive of Charteris, said: “I am delighted

significantly strengthen our in‐house capability as we see strong growth in demand and excellent
fund performance.”

The Way Charteris Gold & Precious Metals Fund is the top performing unit trust over one year ( as at
end of August 2016) according to data from FE Analytics.

The FP Charteris Global Macro Fund is ranked 5th out of 259 funds in the IA Global Sector, year to
date (source FE Analytics ‐ as at August month end).

The Elite Charteris Premium Income Fund is ranked 2nd out of 81 funds in the IA Equity Income
Sector (source FE Analytics ‐ as at end August month end).
