During his respected and distinguished City career, Patrick Phillips has worked for a number of leading financial institutions including Phillips & Drew (now UBS Warburg), James Capel (now HSBC), de Zoete & Bevan, now Barclays Capital) and Merrill Lynch.
In 1986 he was elected Deputy Chairman of the Gilt-Edged Market Makers Association (GEMMA) and subsequently served as a member of the Council of the London Stock Exchange and Chairman of its Gilt-Edged Rules Committee.
Patrick was a former high sheriff of the county of Buckinghamshire for work conducted in his local area further establishing his respected status.
He is the author of several books on Government bond/Gilt markets. His most notable of which was "The Merrill Lynch guide to the Gilt-Edged and Sterling Bond Markets" (available on Amazon here - Along with its two earlier versions, "Inside the Gilt-Edged Market" published by Woodhead-Faulkner in Cambridge in 1984 when he was a partner of de Zoete and Bevan, and "Inside the NEW Gilt-Edged Market" (1986) after Big Bang from the BZW stable.
Pat has gone on to develop one of the most technically advanced yield curve analytics models in the world called Giltsoft and this is used in conjunction with the City Financial Strategic Gilt Fund.
